Dj W!LD – We Almost Lost Detroit

Published on May 29th, 2012

The story of ‘We Almost Lost Detroit EP’ is quite simple: created by DJ W!LD to smash the dance floor at his residency at Circo Loco, DC-10 over the summer.  The EP is the 9th release on W!LD’s own The W Label and another perfect example of his unrelenting, groovy, techy and speaker-busting take on house music.  It comes in the wake of recent album ‘D!RTY’ on Cabin Fever/Rekids.

Already the four tracks on ‘We Almost Lost Detroit’ have picked up support from key players such as Josh Wink, Dubfire, Matthias Tanzmann and Luna City Express.

With recent outings on Harry Klein, Robsoul, Magnetic and One Records, alongside his own Catwash and The W Label, DJ W!LD is in serious demand right now. A stalwart of the tech and deep house scene, his career path began in the clubs of Paris in 1996.  Working with Chris Carrier from 2005 under the name of Catwash (which also spawned the label) he became well known in the French house and techno scene and by 2009 was touring the world, including being offered the residency he retains for Circo Loco at DC-10 in Ibiza.

The W Label launched in 2011 and was home to W!LD’s critically acclaimed ‘Palace’ album and the club destroying singles it contained. The label is a place for W!LD’s own productions, alongside that of his friends, allowing them reflect on experiences and musical influences. The label motto is “we have W!LD records” and recently outings by Kerri Chandler, Art Department, Sis, Chris Carrier, Radio Slave, Phil Weeks and W!LD certainly back that up!

The EP is out June 15th, check out the previews below!
